Subject Access Request (SAR)

Under Data Protection Legislation (the GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), you have the right to a copy of your own personal data. The purpose of this right is to help people understand how and why your data is being used, and to enable you to check that we are doing it lawfully. The right applies to any whose data we process such as our students, staff, parents, and volunteers.

 

To submit a subject access request please complete the form below and email it to governance@kcat.co.uk or send us the request if you wish not to complete the form.

 

Important: While the Trust will aim to process your request within the 30-calendar period, if no suitable ID is provided this will delay your Subject Access Request. The 30-calendar day period will not begin until suitable ID is provided. In select Subject Access Request's if a parent is requesting information about their son/daughter we may need to seek consent from the student to authorize the request.

Accepted ID

 

At the start of a subject access request, The Keys Co-Operative Academy Trust will require proof of identity and you will need to provide proof of address.

 

We require one of each from the list below Proof of Identity:

​

• Current, any valid passport (certified copies must show nationality, place, date of birth, passport number, expiry date, photograph, and signature) •

• Current, valid full UK photo-card driving license with signature or ‘old-style’ driving license •

• Current, valid UK photo-card provisional license •

• Birth Certificate issued within 12 months of birth

 

Proof of Address:

​

• Household utility bill (e.g. gas, electric, water, fixed land line). It must be no more than three months old and must show your name and current address. 

• Current, valid full UK photo-card driving license - Provisional licenses are not accepted as proof of address •

• Bank, building society or credit card statement. It must be no more than three months old and must show your name and current address. 

• Local authority tax bill (.e.g council tax) valid for the current year

Freedom of Information (FOI)

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 provides the public access to information held by public authorities. 

 

It does this in two ways:

​

• public authorities are obliged to publish certain information about their activities.

• members of the public are entitled to request information from public authorities.

 

An FOI request only covers information what the Trust currently holds. To submit an FOI request the preferred method for the requester is to send the request to governance@kcat.co.uk
